    Research

Our research integrates behavioral, biological, and chemical methods in insect control for better monitoring and management of insect pests and better understanding of the ecology of pests and their natural enemies.

The overall objective of our research program is the development of ecosystem-based IPM strategies that focuses on the long-term prevention of insect pests in blueberries and cranberries.

This objective is achieved through research on:

  1. Host-plant volatiles
  2. Multi-trophic interactions
  3. Behavioral manipulation
  4. Host plant resistance
  5. Pest monitoring
  6. Reduced risk controls

Areas of interest include: insect-plant interactions, tri-trophic interactions, chemical ecology, host-plant resistance, and biological control.
